Amba Sayal-Bennett discusses her show Diffraction Metis with Harvard scientist Matthew Mitcheltree at Yve YANG Gallery, with a Q&A session to follow.
Amba Sayal-Bennett (b.1991, UK) lives and works in London. She received her BFA from Oxford University in 2012 and her MA in The History of Art from The Courtauld Institute in 2013. She is currently finishing her PhD in Art Practice and Learning at Goldsmiths. Her work has recently been included in UK/raine: Emerging Artists From the UK and Ukraine, at the Saatchi Gallery, London. Other recent exhibitions include WW Contemporary Art, London; Gibberd Gallery, Harlow; Pal Zileri, London; and Lundgren Gallery, Palma.
Matt Mitcheltree lives in Cambridge, where he works as a chemist studying antibiotics. His work deals with the design and synthesis of new organic molecules for the treatment of human disease, as well as the discovery of chemical transformations useful toward that end. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Matt has spent his life a devoted student of the arts, broadly defined, and of music in particular. He received his BS in 2013 from Yale University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Harvard.
