Thailand

Piti Sedthee (b. 1956, Bangkok) is a Thai artist of Indian descent. He creates expressive paintings that reflect everyday life and spiritual elements, using unconventional materials inspired by his diverse experiences and surroundings. Growing up in Thailand for his parents’ work, he attended Chiang Mai University majoring in Industry Design, which inclined toward practical aspects such as carpentry, textile design, and electrical design. During his time in college, Piti started exploring fine arts through elective courses, through which he developed his passion for painting. Upon graduation, Piti returned to Bangkok and began a career in education, teaching art, English, and math. His artistic journey took a significant step forward in 2022 with his first solo exhibition, Disappeared Monalisa, at the Suvannabhumi Art Gallery in Chiang Mai, marking his official entry into the art world.
